Meet the Doctors

Mitch and Julie Paynter

    Dr. Julie Paynter, a Northeast Portland native, and Dr. Mitch Paynter, who hails from Caldwell, ID, met and married while in Dental school at Oregon Health and Sciences University in Portland, OR. Following their graduation in 2002, they were commissioned United States Naval Officers.  They completed a one year Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) in 2003 at the Great Lakes Naval Dental Center in Great Lakes, IL.  Dr. Mitch spent three years on the USS Abraham Lincoln and one year at the US Naval Air Station in Whidbey Island, WA while Dr. Julie served three years at the Naval Station in Everett, WA. 

     Since 2006, they have been dedicated to serving their patient’s dental needs at Paynter Family Dentistry. Recently, they have partnered with Gresham Dental. Dr. Julie is most often practicing at Paynter Family Dentistry on Powell and Dr. Mitch is most often practicing at the Gresham Dental location on Civic Drive, in Gresham Station.

     The Doctors take time to listen to their patients concerns and ensure they are informed about their oral health needs. They always go to the extra mile to make their patients feel relaxed and comfortable. Needless to say, you're in good hands with these two!

    Dr. Mitch and Dr. Julie pride themselves in staying current with the latest dental technologies through continuing education courses, with a special emphasis on implant restorations. Both Doctors are members of the American Society of Implant & Reconstructive Dentistry (ASIRD). 

    ASIRD is committed to improving the quality of care for dental implant patients by elevating the standards of surgical and restorative dental education and practice. Not every dentist routinely restores and maintains dental implants and not all placers of dental implants are surgeons. By using an ASIRD team, rest assured that your dentists routinely restore and maintain dental implants and only a trained dental implant focused oral surgeon will place your implant.
